Epic Seven Reroll Guide 2026
A realistic Epic Seven reroll guide for 2026: when rerolling helps, which heroes justify a reset, and how to avoid losing a good account.

Rerolling is the practice of starting over until the first summons produce a strong hero. It works best in games where the first pull decides the next month. Epic Seven is not quite that game anymore: the free summon volume is high, the selective summon gives a controlled choice, and several of the best progression heroes are 3-stars or 4-stars.
That does not make rerolling useless. It makes it a decision with a narrow use case.
Should you reroll in 2026?
| Your situation | Reroll? | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Brand-new account, no limited heroes | Maybe, for a Wyvern damage dealer | Saves early Hunt pain |
| Returning player with an old roster | No | Old limited units and gear are worth more |
| Player who wants a specific limited hero | No | Wait for the banner; rerolling cannot produce it |
| Player starting on Steam Foundry | Usually no | Daily free summons and Luna at Rank 70 outweigh the first pull |
| Player with a second account and spare time | Yes, if you enjoy it | The cost is time, not money |
The launch economy is the strongest argument against rerolling. Twenty free Covenant summons a day and a guaranteed limited Luna at Rank 70 reward account age. A rerolled account that starts three days late is behind an account that started on day one, even if the first pull was better.
What a reroll should target
A reroll target is not "the strongest hero". It is the hero that removes the biggest early bottleneck.
| Target | Bottleneck solved | Keep if |
|---|---|---|
| Sigret | Wyvern damage | You have no Ice single-target DPS |
| Destina | Healing and cleanse | You have no reliable healer |
| Tamarinne | Support and CR | You want the best long-term support |
| Vildred | Story farming | You want fast clears and a PvP threat |
| Brieg | Wyvern tank | You are committed to Wyvern 13 early |
| Furious | Wyvern debuffs | You have Sigret but no debuffer |
Sigret is the most valuable single target because Wyvern is the first Hunt every account farms. Destina and Tamarinne are close behind because survival is the other early gate.
Do not reroll for a hero that needs endgame gear to function. A PvP opener with no speed gear is not an upgrade over a farmer.
The reroll loop, without the myths
The exact reset flow depends on the client and the login method. The stable principles are:
- Use an account you are willing to lose. Never reroll on a linked main account.
- Complete the tutorial until the selective summon and the first summons unlock.
- Roll the selective summon first. It is the controllable part.
- If the selective result is bad, do not spend the limited currency yet.
- Keep an account only if it has a role-defining hero, not just a 5-star.
- Stop after a small number of attempts. The marginal value drops fast.
On Steam, the login identity is the Steam account, so a reroll requires a second Steam identity. That is slower than the mobile loop and one more reason the Steam launch is not a reroll-friendly start. The Steam reroll guide covers those limits.
Never buy a rerolled account from a third party. Account trading violates the terms, and the original owner can often recover the account after you have invested in it.
The selective summon is the real reroll
Most players conflate rerolling with the selective summon. The selective summon is a new-account feature that lets you roll several batches of heroes and keep one. It is free, deterministic in structure, and much faster than resetting the whole account.
Use it to fill a role:
- No damage dealer: take Sigret.
- No healer: take Destina or Tamarinne.
- No farmer: take Vildred.
- No tank: take Brieg.
A batch with three 5-stars but no healer is worse than a batch with one healer and two usable 4-stars. Role coverage beats star count.
How long should a reroll take?
A efficient reroll is measured in minutes, not hours. If a single attempt takes fifteen minutes and the target has a low chance, the expected time is longer than the advantage the target provides.
A reasonable budget:
- Mobile: a handful of attempts at most.
- Steam: one or two attempts, because each requires a new Steam identity.
- Returning player: zero attempts; use the existing roster.
If you find yourself rerolling for a specific non-limited hero after ten attempts, stop. The selective summon and the free daily pulls will likely provide the same hero eventually.
What rerolling does not fix
Gear. A perfect hero with no speed boots is still slow.
Molagora. A rerolled account has the same skill-enhancement budget as any other new account.
Knowledge. Team order, debuff timing and Hunt mechanics decide more fights than the starting 5-star.
Limited heroes. They are not in the standard pool. Rerolling cannot produce them outside their banners.
A better use of the same time
If you have hours to spend on a new account, spend them on:
- Clearing story for Skystones and equipment.
- Unlocking Hunts and building one stable team.
- Doing the event dungeon for catalysts.
- Reaching the first milestone reward (Rank 70 on Foundry).
- Learning the Wyvern and Abyss mechanics.
That produces a stronger account than a marginally better first pull, and it does not depend on luck.
After you keep an account
Once you stop rerolling, commit. The worst outcome is a half-built account abandoned for a new attempt.
- Pick one main team and take it to 6-star.
- Build one Hunt team before a second.
- Save Bookmarks for a limited banner.
- Use the beginner guide as the thirty-day plan.
- Check the beginner tier list before investing in a new 5-star.
FAQ
Is rerolling still worth it in Epic Seven?
Only for a new player who wants a specific limited or Moonlight hero and has time to spare. The Selective Summon already solves the opening roster for most accounts.
How many rerolls does it take?
There is no fixed number. Treat it as a time budget: if the account cannot clear the early story efficiently after a few attempts, the bottleneck is the account, not the roll.
Can I get banned for rerolling?
Rerolling itself is not the issue; account trading and shared credentials are. Never buy or sell accounts, and never hand your login to a third party.
